Babs pulls out the stops (but then, when doesn't she?) to give us this tale of a woman looking back at her memories of a failed romance. After rehashing the bad and good, she tells us to forget the bad -- though she's just told us what it is, so it's fresh in our minds. "Misty, water-colored memories"? I don't think so. She remembers perfectly what's too painful to speak about.
The song won an Academy Award for Best Film Song, as well as a Grammy.
