The concept of this song is troubling. The singer champions how great his love is ("You know the door to my very soul"), reveals how undemonstrative he can be ("you may not think I care for you"), then tells his lover that she (or he, I suppose) is the one who needs to demonstrate the depth of her(/his) love. This is what is known as a mixed message. Combining the confusion and lyrical hyperbole with the sap standard arrangement (soft drums, light keyboards, breathy backing vocals, etc.) yields sap.

Not to mention the way they torture the English language in service of a lameass rhyme:
"And it's me you need to show/ how deep is your love"
So what are they saying here? That she needs to show him the depth of her love, or that he is some sort of tool (heh heh, tool) for showing the depth of said love?
Sheesh.
